The dance Lafranga is similar to the kotchari and was danced in Almaty, Kazakhstan by Pontic Greeks from Samsun (Nikos Zournatzidis, Contribution to Pontic Greek Dance). It can be danced using all types of traditional musical instruments without lyrics. The music is similar to that of kotchari. The dance moves to the right and has 6 steps. It's danced by a mix of males and females in a closed circle with hands on the shoulders and in a 2/4 or 4/8 rhythm.
