Corfu Children's Choir wins Vienna award singing Pontic melody

After securing an Outstanding Achievement Award at the 12th Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, the Corfu Children's Choir went on to thrill the audience with their amazing voices during a performance at the Vienna Musical Theater (MUTH).

Last year the choir won gold in Venice and this year they've succeeded in Vienna, the music capital of the world; which is an amazing achievement.

Their performance in Vienna began with ecclesiastical hymns and moved on to well-known European songs before turning to songs by the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. It finished with songs of the Forgettable Homelands and the region of Pontus, the ancestral homeland of the choir's conductor Christina Kalliaridou and a rendition of the popular Pontic melody "Kortsopon lal me" which means "Talk to me little girl" a song by Dimitri Minakaki. View their performance below.
